Wow… it’s been a long time since I posted. Whoops.

For some reason this result just cracked me up:
You are Q-bert. You have a penchant for organization and color-coding, but are very prone to swearing.  You like to retrace your steps.

“I want a gallon of cheese!” -Morgan

(Once we showed her how much a gallon actually was, she decided that was too much.) :)

Maybe I got that number sequence question right after all…

You know it’s Halloween…

…when you see a guy in a purple pimp costume riding a bike through downtown. Happy Halloween everyone, and Happy Birthday to me!

For Sara

(That’s Sara A., by the way, although I’m sure the other Saras will appreciate it as well.)

I was writing today, and I accidentally typed this: “You forget yourself, Lucius,” he said with a cold simile.

Garage Sale

Well, we did it. We actually had a garage sale. It wasn’t exactly ideal weather today, as anyone in the area can attest to. We woke up to rain, which let up enough for us to get stuff set up, but then not long after 10:00 (when our sale actually started) it really poured for a while, and we had to cover stuff up. Fortunately, we were able to keep most things in the garage or under the tarp, so we could still sell stuff in the rain. The rest of the day was actually pretty dry, but still cold and cloudy. So not too terrible. I had been a little worried that it would rain all day. A bunch of people showed up early while we were still dragging stuff up from the basement. It was kind of annoying, but they did buy a lot of stuff, so it was worth it. Several people came during the rain, too, which was surprising. Overall, I think we had a really successful garage sale. We got rid of a whole bunch of stuff, and actually made some money. We now have a big wad of one and five dollar bills. No one bought our couch, though. We couldn’t put it outside, so we had a sign saying it was inside, but most people didn’t go look at it. So now all that’s left to do is donate the left-over stuff, and try to find someone to buy the couch (or give it away if necessary). I enjoyed having the sale. It was cool to see people actually buying our stuff. It was tiring, though, so it’s not like it’s something I’d do on a regular basis. I imagine that after a few years we will have once again amassed enough junk to have another one, though. It’s amazing how much stuff you can fit in a house.

I got a 96%, which is 1 question wrong. Turns out I didn’t know the difference between a meteor, a meteorite, and a meteoroid. I’m not sure I ever learned that in school, 8th grade or otherwise.

baby

In case anyone reads this who doesn’t read Dan’s blog, we had the ultrasound yesterday, and we’re having another girl, just like Morgan wanted. :)

What Type of Killer Are You? [cool pictures]

You kill with magic.
You are very skilled with magic, but have poor fighting skills. But it doesn’t really matter anyway since it can be as powerful as other weapons. You are probably missunderstood by people and have some pain inside you. You are not the kind of person to start a fight, but if you are provocted you respond. You probably don’t have that many friends either though you might want some. According to you life is a lonely journey and you try not to care to much. Most people who are witches or anything similar is thought to be evil and want to see all people suffer. That however is not true. You don’t feel that much joy seeing others in pain. You are probably peaceful and quiet when left alone.

Main weapon: Potions and spells

I’m not so sure about the life being lonely thing, but I thought the fact that I got magic was cool. :)

I never actually thought I’d use something I learned in high school history…

…but today in my crossword puzzle, I needed to know the Hawley-Smoot tariff. Next, maybe I’ll find some use for random facts from the Ken Burns Civil War documentary.
